Lighten Up with US

This flotilla has a gift for combining fun and serious, work and play; we enjoy each other in our volunteer service. Close friendships are formed with shipmates during the 8-hour safety patrols around the mouth of the Patuxent, where the saying "we're all in the same boat" takes on deeper meaning.

Scattered throughout the year we put on many socials, from the totally informal to the semi-formal. This summer in lieu of one of our business meetings, we all took an evening cruise on the Governor's Yacht -- Maryland Independence.

Crew on Cruise

Then we cruised out to see Thomas Point light, a screwpile lighthouse still in operation, and thence cruised under the Bay Bridge.

Then in December the flotilla hosts a party for the kids of all ages at Station St. Inigoes followed later by Holiday party of our own at a local restaurant, during which a sometimes boisterous Yankee gift exchange runs on.
